"The skin is her art gallery."

The body, the skin, are like blank pages that can be written on with the ink of the heart. And so, tattoos are truly like diaries: stories drawn and tattooed. They speak of stages of life, of emotions and dreams; they send messages to the world. Tattoos are paintings, they are art presented to the viewer on the epidermis.

Art was also the starting point for Zurich native Alexey Cubas's tattoo career. "The idea that people could wear my art on the street—literally on their skin—never left me," says the 33-year-old artist. "I wanted to turn the street into a gallery." In January, Cubas opened his "AC Tattoo Studio" in Manesseplatz, Wiedikon, thus turning his vision into a concrete vocation.
