Located in the heart of Zurich’s historic center, the atelier is where ideas, memories, and experiences are transformed into visual language.

More than a workspace, it is a place of observation, experimentation, and reflection. Here, paintings begin as fragments—a landscape, a memory, a texture, a gesture—and gradually evolve through layers, revisions, and time.

Alexey Cubas approaches painting as a process of discovery rather than representation. Each work develops through accumulation, erasure, and reconstruction, allowing the image to emerge organically rather than follow a predetermined plan.

The atelier is also where different disciplines intersect. Painting, drawing, tattooing, photography, and writing continuously inform one another, creating a dialogue between materials, experiences, and ways of seeing.

Surrounded by the cultural and historical atmosphere of central Zurich, this space serves as both a studio and a place of contemplation—a territory where memory, landscape, identity, and emotion are transformed into art.
