2026 TERRITORIOS

Territories is a body of work inspired by the observation of landscape, not as the depiction of a specific place, but as an emotional and human experience.

The paintings explore horizons, atmospheres, storms, silence, and shifting light. Some elements emerge from memories of Cuba, others from landscapes encountered in Switzerland, yet none aim to describe a particular location. They are places transformed by memory, time, and lived experience.

Through layers, gestures, and processes of construction and reconstruction, each painting becomes its own territory: a space where presence and absence, calm and tension, certainty and uncertainty coexist.

Rather than representing a landscape, these works seek to capture what remains when the place itself disappears: the sensation, the memory, and the trace it leaves behind.
