"Mar y Tierra"

Created in 2015, this series is a visual tribute to my island, Cuba. Each painting reflects the strength and contrast between the sea and the land—two elements so different, yet inseparable. Through gestural and organic forms, the works evoke the Cuban coastline, its ever-changing landscapes, and the enduring connection between these two forces.

Executed in mixed media, oil, and acrylic, these paintings emerged from memories of dark beaches and restless waves, of rocks and coral formations, of silence and salt-filled winds. The series becomes a dialogue between two worlds that depend on one another: the solidity and stillness of the land, and the endless movement of the sea.
